Job summary

You will work with an experienced Estimating Manager, review drawings, complete quantity take-offs and help prepare tenders, moving opportunities from tender documents into solid proposals.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender information.
• Complete quantity take-offs and help build labour, material, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Request and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify missing information, inconsistencies, risks and tender queries.
• Maintain accurate tender files, trackers, assumptions and pricing records.
• Support tender submissions, clarifications, revisions and project handovers.
• Attend site visits and work with Estimating, Commercial, Design, Procurement and Operations.
• Build specialist knowledge of roofing and cladding systems through practical experience and training.

Reports to: Estimating Manager, with a dotted line to the Commercial Manager

Requirement: Full driving licence

Select Roofing and Cladding is looking for a Junior Estimator to join our Dublin team and learn how high-quality roofing and cladding projects are understood, measured and priced.

You will work directly with an experienced Estimating Manager and collaborate with our Commercial and operational teams. From reviewing drawings and completing quantity take-offs to gathering quotations and helping prepare tenders, you will see how an opportunity moves from tender documents into a commercially sound project proposal.

We are open-minded about where you have gained your potential. You might be a construction-related graduate, a junior estimator or QS, someone with practical roofing or cladding knowledge, or a strong technical administrator ready to move into estimating. You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be numerate, accurate, curious and willing to learn.

What You Will Do

• Review drawings, specifications and tender information.

A relevant construction qualification or previous estimating, quantity surveying, roofing, cladding or technical-administration experience would be helpful, but no single background is mandatory.
