Job summary

NexVentur in Ireland is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its established commercial team. The role involves preparing accurate tenders, pricing packages and tender submissions across a varied portfolio of construction projects.

You will review drawings and specifications, obtain subcontractor quotes, price labour and materials, and support pre-construction activities to help secure bids. A relevant Quantity Surveying or related qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Estimating role within construction.
• Strong understanding of costs, materials and subcontractor pricing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a commercial team.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Preparing Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Identifying commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders.
• Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project teams.
• Reviewing design information and assessing the impact of changes on project costs.
• Maintaining accurate tender records and cost information.
• Supporting the commercial team with pre-construction activities.
• Ensuring tenders are prepared and submitted accurately and within required deadlines.

NexVentur is currently recruiting an Estimator on behalf of an established Irish building and civil engineering contractor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join an established commercial team and play a key role in the preparation, pricing and submission of tenders across a varied portfolio of construction projects.

The Role

Reporting to the senior commercial team, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders and supporting the business throughout the pre-construction and bidding process.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Preparing Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
