Job summary

Arcon Recruitment Services is recruiting a Junior Estimator for roofing and cladding. This fully remote role supports a leading subcontractor delivering data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and commercial projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

You will assist senior estimators in tender preparation, cost estimates and material take-offs, with duties spanning supplier quotes, pricing schedules and tender documentation while ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator with specialist subcontractor is essential.
• Experience in roofing, cladding, façades, building envelope, steelwork, glazing or similar.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders.
• Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Perform material take-offs and quantity measurements.
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare pricing schedules and cost breakdowns.
• Support Senior Estimators throughout the tendering process.
• Liaise with suppliers, clients and internal project teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and tender documentation.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
• Ensure tenders are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.
• Support commercial handovers to project delivery teams following successful tenders.

Junior Estimator - Roofing & Cladding | Fully Remote

Our client, a leading specialist roofing and cladding contractor delivering major Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Commercial projects across Ireland and Europe, is seeking a Junior Estimator to join its expanding commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Estimator looking to further their career within a growing international construction business. The successful candidate will work alongside senior commercial and estimating professionals, assisting with the preparation of competitive tenders for high-profile projects.

This is a fully remote position, however applicants must have previous experience working for a roofing, cladding or specialist construction subcontractor. Candidates must also be fluent in spoken and written English.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator with a specialist construction subcontractor is essential.
• Experience within roofing, cladding, façades, building envelope, steelwork, glazing or a similar specialist subcontracting environment is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tender deadlines.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential.

Desirable Experience

• Roofing and cladding estimating.
• Data Centre construction projects.
• Pharmaceutical or Industrial construction.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD or estimating software.
• Understanding of procurement and subcontract packages.
