Job summary

Select Roofing & Cladding Ltd. in Ireland is seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team and develop practical skills across estimating, procurement, contract administration and project financial management.

Working with experienced quantity surveyors and project teams, you will gain hands-on experience in cost estimating, budgeting, tender analysis and cost reporting on major roofing, cladding and building-envelope projects.

Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Interest in construction cost management and commercial project delivery.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and develop under experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labour and overheads.
• Help establish and monitor budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support preparation and analysis of tenders and procurement.
• Assist with value engineering reviews with Design and Project teams.
• Support contract administration and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Prepare project cost information and assist with regular commercial reports.
• Monitor expenditure and highlight cost variances, risks or issues.
• Track design and construction changes and update budget forecasts.
• Work with senior colleagues to maintain accurate financial information.
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate and well-organised commercial documentation.

Select Roofing & Cladding is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Quantity Surveying or Construction Management graduate—or an early-career construction professional—to work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and develop across estimating, procurement, contract administration and project financial management.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Design team and operational colleagues, you will help manage the commercial and financial aspects of projects throughout their lifecycle.

You will gain practical experience in:

• Construction cost estimating and budgeting
• Tender analysis and procurement
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Project expenditure and financial control
• Client and subcontractor communication

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Assisting with detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labour and overheads
• Helping to establish and monitor budgets throughout the project lifecycle
• Supporting the preparation and analysis of tenders, quotations and procurement documentation
• Assisting with value‑engineering reviews in conjunction with the Design and Project teams
• Supporting contract administration and compliance with contractual requirements
• Preparing project cost information and assisting with regular commercial reports
• Monitoring expenditure and highlighting cost variances, risks or emerging issues
• Tracking design and construction changes and updating budget forecasts
• Working with senior commercial and operational colleagues to maintain accurate financial information
• Communicating professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams
• Maintaining accurate and well‑organised commercial documentation

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will ideally have:

• A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• A strong interest in construction cost management and commercial project delivery
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365
• Clear written and verbal communication
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn

Previous experience in construction, surveying or commercial administration would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
