Job summary

Connexus Recruit is partnered with a well-established Irish retailer to appoint an IT Manager who will own technology operations across head office, retail estate, warehouse and eCommerce. This hands-on leadership role suits someone who enjoys both technology and business impact, with broad responsibility for security, reliability and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Leading day-to-day IT operations across head office, retail locations and warehouse/distribution.
• Managing infrastructure, networks, servers, endpoints and Microsoft environments.
• Taking ownership of cybersecurity, access controls, backups, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Managing third-party IT providers, technology vendors, licensing and supplier relationships.
• Supporting and developing business-critical systems across retail, eCommerce, warehouse and corporate functions.
• Managing IT budgets, procurement and technology investment.
• Leading infrastructure upgrades, system implementations and technology improvement projects.
• Supporting new locations, store openings and wider business expansion.
• Reviewing existing systems and processes and identifying opportunities for automation, simplification and improved efficiency.
• Establishing appropriate IT policies, documentation and governance.
• Working closely with senior leadership and departments across the business to understand their requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.
• Remaining technically involved and acting as an escalation point when required.

We are partnering with a well-established and successful Irish retail business to appoint an IT Manager who will take ownership of technology operations across its head office, retail estate, warehouse and eCommerce environment.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to both the technology and the business.

You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day IT environment is secure, reliable and fit for purpose, while also working with senior leadership to shape the longer-term technology roadmap.

The Role

As IT Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall IT environment across a multi-site operation.

Your remit will include:

• Leading day-to-day IT operations across head office, retail locations and warehouse/distribution.
• Managing infrastructure, networks, servers, endpoints and Microsoft environments.
• Taking ownership of cybersecurity, access controls, backups, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Managing third-party IT providers, technology vendors, licensing and supplier relationships.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager / IT Operations Manager / Infrastructure Manager who has previously taken broad ownership of an internal IT environment.

You will ideally bring:

• Strong experience across IT infrastructure and operations.
• Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID and modern workplace technologies.
• Networking, connectivity and endpoint management experience.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity and IT risk.
• Experience managing vendors, MSPs and technology suppliers.
• Budgeting and procurement experience.
• Experience delivering infrastructure and business systems projects.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical leaders.
• A practical, hands-on approach rather than purely strategic or service-management experience.

Experience within retail, FMCG, distribution, warehousing, hospitality or another multi-site operational environment would be particularly valuable.

Exposure to ERP, POS, eCommerce or warehouse management systems would also be advantageous.
