Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association is recruiting Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) on a part-time, fixed-term contract to cover Carndonagh and surrounding areas in Donegal. The role involves morning, lunchtime, evening and weekend calls to help members achieve independence in daily living.

Applicants should have QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support, a full clean driving licence, and a proactive, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support or similar qualification in Social Care is essential.
• Full clean driver’s licence is essential.
• Kind and Caring attitude is essential.
• Use of your own smart phone to check in and out of your visits is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with daily living activities including personal care and domestic tasks.
• Support in social and educational activities and travel/companionship.
• Provide home-based care in members' homes and communities.
• Liaise with home support staff and schedule coordinators to ensure smooth delivery of care.
