Job summary

The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) invites applications for Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) to join our team in Killybegs and nearby Donegal communities.

This part-time role offers up to 30 hours per week, with availability 8:00–11:30 and/or 17:00–22:00, including every second weekend. We provide training, competitive hourly rates, and a supportive environment focused on independence for our Members.

Qualifications

• Full Major Award at QQI Level 5 in either Community Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare
• Support or other relevant qualification and a commitment to complete the major award
• Experience of working with people in a caring role (essential)
• Be reliable, trustworthy, and always maintain confidentiality
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English
• Full driving licence with access to own vehicle (essential)

Responsibilities

• Enable Members to achieve maximum independence in all aspects of daily living; provide assistance in personal care, domestic tasks, social/educational support, travel and companionship
• Role takes place in Members' homes and communities
• Liaise with Home carers and schedule staff; maintain communication with Assisted Living Service Coordinator
