Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Dublin is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy, unionised operation. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will handle high-volume employee relations, industrial relations, and international mobility with a pragmatic, proactive approach.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) and exposes you to full employee lifecycle support across the Irish entity, including visa/work permit coordination and business-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a 360 HR Generalist role, or a focused HR Specialist with strong ER expertise.

Responsibilities

• Employee Relations: Support end-to-end, high-volume ER casework, advising line managers on grievances, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
• Industrial Relations: Collaborate effectively within a unionised environment, fostering strong working relationships with staff and trade union representatives.
• International Recruitment & Mobility: Coordinate visa and work permit processing, managing administrative tracking systems and liaising directly with legal representatives and external immigration agencies.
• Generalist Support: Provide full 360-degree HR guidance across the employee lifecycle, supporting performance reviews and ongoing business initiatives across the Irish entity.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Profile & Requirements

• Proven experience in a 360 HR Generalist role, or a focused HR Specialist with strong ER expertise looking to broaden their scope (upskilling supported).
• Demonstrated background handling high-volume Employee Relations and working alongside Trade Unions highly regarded.
• Previous experience dealing with blue-collar, logistics, utilities, construction, or heavy processing environments is highly desirable.
• Exposure to immigration processes and visa/work permit applications is attractive.
• Resilient, articulate, and pragmatic communication style.
• Full driving licence required.
