Job summary

The Spencer Hotel in Dublin is seeking a Duty Manager to lead day-to-day Front of House operations and support a cohesive team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate has proven management experience in a 4-star hotel or restaurant, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a flexible approach to evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel environment preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop a team to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistently high levels of guest service and operational standards across Front of House.
• Oversee day-to-day Front of House operations with a strong senior presence at Reception.
• Demonstrate leadership, communication and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service and handle guest requests and complaints.
• Coordinate with Front of House Manager, Heads of Department and Management Team.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, health and safety, GDPR and security.

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for Duty Manager to join our Team at The Spencer Hotel.

The 4* Spencer Hotel is in prime location overlooking the River Liffey in the heart of Dublin’s financial district. The hotel is located within 10 minutes’ walk from O’Connell Street, with easy access to Connolly & Dublin Docklands Dart & commuter train stations. The Luas and Dublin Bus services are also within minutes’ walk from the Hotel.

Main purpose of the role:

Play a key role in the operational management of the hotel, working collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistently high service standards.

General responsibilities will include:

• Ensure consistently high levels of guest service and operational standards across Front of House, while supporting the daily management of the team.


• Oversee day-to-day Front of House operations, maintaining a strong senior presence at Reception and providing clear direction, feedback and support to the team.


• Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to make confident decisions, resolve problems and manage multiple priorities.


• Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service, proactively managing guest requests and complaints, recognising repeat and VIP guests, and ensuring a welcoming and professional hotel environment.


• Work closely with the Front of House Manager, Heads of Department and wider Management Team, ensuring effective communication, smooth handovers and follow-up of operational issues and guest feedback.


• Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, SOPs, health and safety requirements, GDPR and security procedures, promptly reporting hazards, incidents or concerns and following through on corrective actions.

Ideal candidate will possess:

• Have had previous Management experience in a 4* Hotel or similar restaurant


• Have a proven ability to manage a team


• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.


• Excellent communication and organisational abilities


• Be enthusiastic and vibrant in their outlook


• Have a willingness to learn and develop their career further
