Job summary

The Mespil Hotel in Dublin is seeking a Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver high-quality dishes with strong hygiene standards. You’ll work under guidance, assist during service, and support stock control and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

We value teamwork, flexibility for weekends, and a positive, can-do attitude. Training and development are available, with meals provided in staff canteen and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment or placement is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and HACCP standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Operations: Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and follow HACCP procedures.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and labeled correctly.
• Support the kitchen team during service to ensure smooth operations.
• Keep workstations clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times.
• Assist with goods receiving and storage, ensuring stock rotation (FIFO).
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency.
• Contribute to minimising food waste and controlling costs.
• Comply with all health & safety regulations.
