Job summary

Celestica Galway is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Technician to support highly automated production and implement continuous improvement on factory systems. The role focuses on troubleshooting high-speed assembly machines, maintaining PLC programs, and robotics calibration in a regulated environment.

The position requires hands-on electrical, PLC and networking skills, with a pattern that includes night shifts (8pm–8am) on a B shift schedule.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an Automation Technician or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of PLC codes and electrical designs.
  • Experience with highly automated high-speed assembly lines.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot high speed automated assembly machines.
  • Sustain machine PLC programs.
  • Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components.
  • Calibration and maintenance of robots.
  • Installation, configuration maintenance of bar code scanning equipment.
  • Provide Final Third Level support on all technical issues.
  • Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades.
  • Provide technical support to multiple lines and record issue resolutions.
  • Work to meet performance targets.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and intranets.
