Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Galway, Ireland is seeking an Operations Engineering Support 2 (Automation) for Shift A to sustain high-speed automated assembly lines and implement continuous improvement on equipment efficiency.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, robots, and electrical systems, and provide third-level technical support across multiple production lines. The role requires strong PLC programming, HMI/Remote I/O experience, and a proactive problem-solving approach in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 2 - 4 years+ experience as an Automation Technician or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of PLC codes and electrical designs
• Systems hardware/software support to highly automated high speed assembly lines.
• Good analytical skills for problem solving

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot high speed automated assembly machines
• Sustain machine PLC programs
• Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components
• Calibration and maintenance of robots
• Installation, configuration maintenance of bar code scanning equipment
• Ensure full product tracking data captured at various process points
• Provides Final Third Level support on all technical issues.
• Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades
• Provide technical support to multiple lines and record issue resolutions in central database
• Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and intranets.
