Job summary

Celestica Ireland seeks a Maintenance Technician to oversee mechanical set-up, preventative maintenance and on-shift technical support for production lines in Galway. You will collaborate with the shift team to resolve issues, drive uptime and improve machine performance, safety, and quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical work, reliability, and strong communication within a manufacturing environment. Training and cross-team collaboration are part of the day-to-day responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of setup, lubrication, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in manufacturing or equivalent processes.
• Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
• High level of hands-on technical ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (in English).
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to manufacturing excellence and a safe environment.
• Flexibility – to participate in training courses, maintenance events and project support work.
• Ability to work on own initiative, self-driven.
• Resourceful, hands-on, gets hands dirty and enjoys a challenge.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and fix mechanical equipment failures.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance as per supervision and engineering guidance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance and tracking records.
• Interact with other teams to co-ordinate equipment repairs.
• Support the team to meet performance targets for uptime, speed, yield and quality
• Support good communication in the shift and between shifts.
• Attend shift meetings and give status updates.
• Provide details and inputs into spare parts usage.
• Support Engineering and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Support training and assist other Technicians and Operators.
