Job summary

Celestica Galway in Ireland seeks a Manufacturing Systems Technician to provide factory systems support in a highly automated production environment. You will drive equipment efficiency and robustness through continuous improvement in a regulated setting.

The role follows a D shift pattern (8pm–8am, Wed/Thu/Fri and every second Saturday) and involves PLCs, robotics, bar code systems and data tracking across multiple production lines, emphasizing problem solving and teamwork with engineering.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years+ experience as an Automation Technician or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of PLC codes and electrical designs
• Systems hardware/software support to highly automated high speed assembly lines.
• Good analytical skills for problem solving
• Good risk assessment methodology

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot high speed automated assembly machines
• Sustain machine PLC programs
• Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components
• Calibration and maintenance of robots
• Installation, configuration maintenance of bar code scanning equipment
• Ensure full product tracking data captured at various process points
• Provides Final Third Level support on all technical issues
• Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades
• Provide technical support to multiple lines and record issue resolutions in central database
• Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and intranets
