OTAZEN is seeking a Technical Engineer to lead the technical planning and engineering integrity of interior fit-out projects, bridging design intent, drawings, and on-site execution.

Otazen, a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is opening an opportunity for an experienced professional to join as Technical Engineer (Interior Fit-Out) in our Technical & Engineering team. As Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall technical planning and engineering integrity of interior fit-out projects - bridging design intent, engineering drawings, and on-site execution to ensure every project is technically sound, buildable, and delivered according to specification.
Key responsibilities
Review and validate engineering drawings, shop drawings, and material breakdowns for interior fit-out projects (partitions, ceiling, flooring, joinery, custom furniture, etc.) before release to production or site
Analyze design concepts and interior layouts to determine technical feasibility, construction methods, and material specifications
Develop technical standards and construction details to ensure consistency and quality across projects
Calculate and verify structural/installation requirements, tolerances, and material specifications in line with site conditions
Coordinate with the Drafter, Production, and Site teams to ensure engineering drawings align with actual field conditions and production capabilities
Lead technical review meetings (Kick Off Meeting) with QC, R&D, Production, and Site teams to resolve design-to-build issues before execution
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues arising during production, assembly, or on-site installation
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other trades (MEP, civil) on technical matters affecting fit-out execution
Prepare technical reports, engineering daily reports, and documentation of design changes or technical issues
Participate in quality control reviews at key stages of production and installation
About you
Minimum S1 in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical engineering, preferably with a background in interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or construction
Strong ability to read and analyze architectural, interior, and technical/shop drawings
Solid understanding of furniture and interior fit-out construction methods, materials, and installation systems
Proficient in AutoCAD/SketchUp; familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D software is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure
Good communication and coordination skills across divisions, including with site-based teams and clients
Willing to travel to project sites as needed
