Job summary

Otazen is seeking a Technical Drafter to bridge design and execution in furniture and interior fit-out projects. You will translate concepts into precise shop drawings and material breakdowns, ensuring alignment with production and on-site needs.

You will work closely with site teams and contractors, lead KOMs, and support QC during assembly and handover while applying AutoCAD/SketchUp skills and strong reading of technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum D3 in Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a drafter, preferably with interior fit-out or furniture projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/SketchUp; familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D software (e.g., 3ds Max) is a plus.
• Strong ability to read architectural, interior, and technical drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including in English.
• Proficient in Office applications.
• Able to work well in a team and coordinate across divisions, including with site teams.

Responsibilities

Technical Drafter (Furniture & Interior Fit-Out)

Otazen, a growing furniture manufacturing company, is opening an opportunity for a professional in technical drawing to join our Technical & Engineering team as a Technical Drafter (Furniture & Interior Fit-Out). You will serve as the bridge between design and execution — translating design concepts and interior fit-out layouts into precise engineering drawings, shop drawings, and material breakdowns ready for execution in both furniture production and site installation.

Key responsibilities

Create engineering drawings, shop drawings, and material breakdowns for furniture and interior fit-out projects (partitions, ceiling, flooring, joinery, custom furniture, etc.) according to set deadlines

Analyze design references, mood boards, and interior layouts from designers, and translate them into technical drawings compliant with OTA construction standards

Develop material breakdowns based on approved engineering drawings, aligned with work contracts and hardware, accessories, and finishing material specifications

Collaborate closely with the site project team to ensure technical/shop drawings match actual field measurements and are applicable for on-site installation

Coordinate with contractors and other trades (e.g., MEP, civil) on-site when fit-out drawings require adjustment or clash resolution

Lead Kick Off Meetings (KOM) for final drawing reviews with the QC, R&D, Production, Assembly, and Finishing teams

Support troubleshooting across design, production, assembly, and on-site installation stages

Support the Warehouse team in verifying completeness of non-standard hardware and finishing components

Prepare daily engineering reports and attend morning briefings with the Head of Technical and TE Manager

Participate in quality control during the initial assembly stage and on-site installation before final handover

About you

Minimum D3 in Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, or a related field

Minimum 1 year of experience as a drafter, preferably with exposure to interior fit-out or furniture projects

Background in engineering or knowledge of woodworking, furniture construction, and interior fit-out systems

Proficient in AutoCAD/SketchUp; familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D software (3ds Max, etc.) is a plus

Strong ability to read architectural, interior, and technical drawings

Good verbal and written communication skills, including in English

Proficient in Office applications

Able to work well in a team and coordinate actively across divisions, including with site-based project teams
