Job summary

Otazen is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out projects from planning through handover. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure quality across production and installation while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires 6–8 years in project management with interior fit-out or construction experience, plus travel as needed. English communication is essential for client-facing engagements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum S1 in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in project management, preferably with a strong background in interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or construction projects
  • Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously, from planning through handover
  • Strong understanding of furniture and interior fit-out construction methods, materials, and project cost control
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including in English, for client-facing interactions
  • Willing to travel and oversee multiple project sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage overall project plans, schedules, and budgets for furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out projects, from kick-off to final handover
  • Oversee project execution across production, technical/engineering, procurement, and site installation to ensure alignment with project scope, timeline, and specifications
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation plans to prevent delays, cost overruns, or quality issues
  • Review and approve key project documents, including technical drawings, material breakdowns, and variation orders, before execution
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including Technical Engineer, Drafter, Site Manager, Document Control, and QS, ensuring clear accountability and communication
  • Manage relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related matters
  • Conduct regular project review meetings with internal teams and clients to track progress, resolve issues, and align expectations
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, variation orders, and claims with clients and subcontractors as needed
  • Monitor project costs against budget, working closely with the Costing and Quantity Surveyor teams to control expenditure and manage variations
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production and installation, coordinating with Site QC for inspections and defect resolution

Otazen, a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is opening an opportunity for an experienced professional to join as Project Manager, overseeing furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out projects from planning through handover. As Project Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for project delivery — ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards, while managing cross-functional teams, client relationships, and project risks end-to-end.
