Job summary

Jepun Sanur in South Denpasar, Bali, is seeking a talented Cook to join our culinary team in a full-time, on-site role. You will prepare high-quality dishes, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to smooth kitchen operations.

You will work closely with chefs, manage mise en place, handle dietary requests, and support menu development. The ideal candidate has at least three years in a similar kitchen role and a solid foundation in cooking techniques and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role within the hospitality industry for minimum 3 years.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality.
• Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical fitness and stamina to work standing for extended periods in a hot kitchen.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional food.
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Relevant culinary qualification or certification is preferred but not essential if you have substantial practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation and flavour.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation in all areas of food preparation and storage.
• Organise and manage mise en place to ensure efficient workflow during service periods.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff and chefs to ensure timely and coordinated food preparation.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste.
• Follow portion control guidelines and plating standards to maintain consistency across all dishes.
• Respond promptly to special dietary requirements and modification requests from guests.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in good working order and report any maintenance issues.
• Support the head chef or kitchen manager in menu development and food costing initiatives.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
