Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd seeks a Senior Subcontracts Specialist to advance the subcontract discipline with expert guidance for colleagues. You will lead RFP/ITB processes, negotiate terms, and oversee pre-award activities up to award, while focusing on cost savings and risk management to protect project budgets.

You will mentor teammates, present subcontract management insights, ensure compliance with company policies, and collaborate with site leadership to optimize subcontract outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of relevant subcontracting experience.
• Field experience is preferred for practical insight.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract policies and processes.
• Proven ability to develop, negotiate and administer complex subcontracts.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, monitor progress and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create and conduct RFPs/ITBs including vendor pre-qualifications.
• Manage tender correspondence, negotiate terms and prepare award recommendations.
• Oversee pre-award activities through subcontract award.
• Support cost avoidance, cost savings and risk reviews during formation.
• Contribute to subcontract management strategy development and implementation.
• Provide guidance on subcontract matters to site leadership.
• Prepare and present internal and external subcontract management presentations.
• Review standard subcontracts for compliance with policies.
• Ensure proper handling of pre-award documentation and files.
• Participate in internal audits of the subcontracting process.
• Maintain liaison with Project Subcontract Coordinators for administration.
