Job summary

Karmafree Surf Shop in Uluwatu is seeking an energetic Senior Barista to lead the bar team and ensure the highest quality beverages and customer service. You will manage daily cafe operations and support both café and retail activities in a fast-paced, surf-inspired environment.

The ideal candidate has strong barista experience, passion for coffee and healthy lifestyle products, and is comfortable guiding colleagues while delivering a warm customer experience.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an energetic, experienced, and customer-oriented Senior Barista to join our team at Karmafree Surf & Shop & Cafe in Uluwatu.

The ideal candidate has strong barista experience, a passion for coffee, healthy food & beverage products, and an interest in retail and lifestyle culture. You will play an important role in maintaining beverage quality, supporting the barista team, delivering excellent customer service, and assisting with both café and retail operations.

This role is suited for someone who is confident in working independently, has good leadership skills, enjoys a fast-paced surf-inspired environment, and is interested in developing their career within a dynamic hospitality and retail business. An interest in retail is important, while previous retail experience will be considered a strong advantage.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a barista, with senior or team leader experience preferred

Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, beverage quality, and café operations

Strong passion for coffee, healthy lifestyle products, customer service, and retail

Interest in the retail industry and lifestyle products; previous retail experience is a plus

Good leadership skills and ability to support, guide, and motivate team members

Energetic, positive, responsible, and customer-focused personality

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and hygiene standards

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages consistently according to company standards

Support and guide barista team members to maintain service and beverage quality

Ensure daily bar operations run smoothly and efficiently

Provide excellent customer service and create a warm, friendly customer experience

Handle cashier duties, including processing payments accurately (cash & cashless transactions)

Operate the POS system and ensure correct daily transaction recording

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the coffee bar and store area

Assist in daily café and retail operations to ensure smooth workflow

Support inventory control, stock handling, and product display

Assist in upselling retail products, food & beverages, and promotions

Develop good product knowledge and help introduce retail products to customers

Build strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat visits

Support the team in achieving daily operational and service standards

Identify operational issues and provide suggestions for continuous improvement

Work collaboratively with the café and retail team to ensure efficient store operations

Follow company SOPs and help ensure all team members maintain company standards
