This role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities and potential customers, while maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients. You will understand customer technical needs and provide appropriate engineering and technical solutions, prepare and present quotations, proposals, technical offers, and presentations. You will conduct technical clarifications regarding specifications, drawings, materials, processes, and project scope, and coordinate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure customer requirements can be realized.
Key responsibilities
- Search for and develop new business opportunities and potential customers
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers
- Understand customer technical needs and provide appropriate engineering/technical solutions
- Prepare and explain quotations, proposals, technical offers, and presentations to customers
- Conduct technical clarifications with customers regarding specifications, drawings, materials, processes, and scope of work
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure customer requirements can be realized
- Conduct site visits and customer visits to understand field conditions and requirements
- Participate in tender processes, quotations, negotiations, and closing
- Follow up on quotations and ensure documentation of progress for each opportunity
- Analyze market needs and identify opportunities for engineering products/services
- Prepare reports on sales pipeline, customer visits, quotations, and sales performance regularly
- Ensure customer communication and documentation are properly maintained through handover to Project/Engineering teams
About you
- Minimum D3/S1 education in Engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Experience as Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, or Project Sales is a plus
- Basic understanding of engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, machinery, or industrial equipment
- Able to read technical drawings and understand technical specifications
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Problem-solving ability and understanding of customer needs
- Able to create and understand quotations and commercial proposals
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Willing to conduct customer visits and business travel as required
- Driver's license (SIM A/C) is a plus
- Able to communicate in English, especially for emails and technical documents, is a plus
