A Bali-based multi-disciplinary company is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join the team and manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, products, and custom-made items for handcraft, furniture, décor, and assembly projects. This role goes beyond simply placing orders — it requires someone who can source the right materials, build strong supplier relationships, negotiate, solve problems, and coordinate across teams to keep projects moving from sourcing to production and delivery.
Key responsibilities
Source and purchase materials, components, accessories, and finished products for custom projects and regular/existing products
Build and maintain relationships with handcraft suppliers, workshops, manufacturers, material suppliers, and supporting vendors
Request quotations, compare pricing, negotiate terms, and manage Purchase Orders (POs)
Coordinate custom-made items based on approved drawings, specifications, samples, quantities, and quality standards
Follow up with suppliers on production progress, samples, quality, lead times, and delivery schedules
Coordinate closely with Project Manager, Drafters/Designers, Production, Warehouse, and QC teams
Monitor material requirements and ensure items are available when needed for production and projects
Identify potential delays, quality issues, material shortages, or supplier challenges and take action to find solutions
Support project coordination by monitoring timelines, priorities, deliverables, and overall progress
Maintain accurate supplier information, pricing, purchasing records, and project documentation
About you
Minimum Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Project Management, or a related field
Existing connections with handcraft suppliers, workshops, manufacturers, or supporting suppliers are highly preferred
Experience with custom-made or project-based purchasing is a strong advantage
Experience in project coordination or project management is highly valued
Strong negotiation, communication, coordination, and follow-up skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges
Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Able to understand product specifications, drawings, samples, and BOMs
