Job summary

PT GFT Indonesia Investment is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the sourcing of raw materials, packaging, spares, and production-related goods for our manufacturing operations. You will drive supplier relationships and ensure strategic procurement aligns with production needs.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring inventory, and delivering cost-saving initiatives while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement within a manufacturing company, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory control, and manufacturing supply chain operations.
• Experience in sourcing raw materials, spare parts, and production-related materials.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
• Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Mandarin proficiency (spoken and written) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, spare parts, machinery, and indirect materials for manufacturing.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency, quality improvement, and uninterrupted production.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to obtain best value.
• Coordinate with Production, PPIC, Warehouse, Engineering, QA/QC, and Finance to ensure material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing plans to prevent shortages or excess.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service; implement supplier development.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with policies, quality standards, and regulations.
• Analyze market trends, material costs, and supply risks, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare procurement reports, purchasing KPIs, and supplier performance reports for management.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team to improve productivity and excellence.

General Qualifications
