PT GFT Indonesia Investment is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the sourcing of raw materials, packaging, spares, and production-related goods for our manufacturing operations. You will drive supplier relationships and ensure strategic procurement aligns with production needs.
Responsibilities include negotiating terms, coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring inventory, and delivering cost-saving initiatives while upholding quality and compliance standards.
Supervise and manage the daily purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, spare parts, machinery, and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency, quality improvement, and uninterrupted production.
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to obtain the best commercial value.
Coordinate closely with Production, PPIC, Warehouse, Engineering, QA/QC, and Finance to ensure material availability and smooth production processes.
Monitor inventory levels and purchasing plans to prevent material shortages or excess inventory.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service, and implement continuous supplier development programs.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Analyze market trends, material costs, and supply risks, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
Prepare procurement reports, purchasing KPIs, and supplier performance reports for management review.
Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team to improve productivity and operational excellence.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement within a manufacturing company, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory control, and manufacturing supply chain operations.
Experience in sourcing raw materials, spare parts, and production-related materials.
Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or equivalent).
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Fluent in English (both spoken and written) is mandatory.
Mandarin proficiency (spoken and written) is an advantage.
