Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement or supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Fluency in Indonesian and English (written and verbal).
• High school diploma or vocational qualification; business/procurement education preferred.

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Officer to join PT HSC Indonesia (Medan) on a full-time basis. This role is based in North Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra and plays a vital part in our supply chain operations. As Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities that directly support the efficient operation of our organisation. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in vendor management, cost control, and procurement strategy whilst contributing to our continued success in the Trades & Services sector.

Key responsibilities

Processing purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company procedures and budget guidelines

Sourcing and evaluating potential suppliers to ensure quality, reliability and competitive pricing

Negotiating terms, pricing and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve optimal value

Maintaining accurate records of purchases, invoices and supplier contracts

Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock availability

Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices and delivery receipts

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors

Preparing purchase reports and analyses to support management decision-making

Ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role, ideally within the Trades & Services industry

Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management and supply chain operations

Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build effective supplier relationships

Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications

Strong organisational and time-management abilities with attention to detail

Ability to analyse costs and identify opportunities for savings without compromising quality

Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Fluency in Indonesian and English (written and verbal)

A high school diploma or vocational qualification; further education in business administration, procurement or supply chain management is preferred
