Job summary

PT. SP Manufacturing in Batam, Riau Islands, is seeking a talented and experienced Buyer/Purchasing Executive to lead our procurement operations.

You will negotiate with suppliers, manage contracts, issue purchase orders, and collaborate with production, warehouse, and finance to ensure timely, cost-efficient sourcing while upholding quality standards. Strong English and 7+ years in manufacturing procurement are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing or logistics.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiation and contract management.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers meeting quality, cost, and delivery needs.
• Negotiate contracts and terms for favorable pricing and payment conditions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders with accurate specs, quantities, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage key vendor relationships.

About the role

PT. SP Manufacturing is seeking a talented and experienced Buyer/Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team. This is a full-time position based in Batam, Riau Islands, where you will play a crucial role in managing the company's purchasing operations and supply chain strategy. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for negotiating, and procuring materials and services that are essential to our production processes, whilst ensuring optimal cost efficiency and quality standards.

What you'll be doing

• Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers and vendors that meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable payment conditions
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors
• Coordinating with internal departments including production, warehouse, and finance to ensure procurement needs are met on time
• Tracking inventory levels and forecasting material requirements to optimize stock management
• Documentation and maintaining accurate records of all purchasing transactions
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the procurement function
• Resolving supplier issues, discrepancies, and quality concerns promptly and professionally
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all purchasing activities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role within the manufacturing or logistics sector
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract management
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management systems, and supply chain best practices
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience with cost analysis and budget management is highly desirable
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
