Job summary

PT. Polygroup Manufaktur Indonesia in Kendal, Central Java, seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement and sourcing strategy.

You will optimise the supply chain, manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-efficiency while upholding quality and reliability across our manufacturing operations. You will direct the procurement cycle, coach the team, analyse spend data, and align purchasing activities with business growth plans, reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years of purchasing and procurement experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record in supplier management, vendor negotiation and contract administration.
• Strong experience with procurement systems, inventory management software and ERP platforms.
• Analysing spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels.
• Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
• Fluency in English and Indonesian languages (both written and spoken).
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing comprehensive purchasing strategies and policies to optimise procurement processes and achieve cost savings
• Managing the complete procurement cycle, including supplier identification, evaluation, selection and contract negotiation
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring consistent delivery of quality materials and services
• Monitoring inventory levels and working closely with operations and production teams to forecast material requirements accurately
• Negotiating pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers to secure competitive rates whilst maintaining quality standards
• Implementing and managing vendor performance metrics, conducting regular reviews and addressing any performance issues
• Overseeing procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
• Leading and mentoring the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Analysing market trends and supply chain risks to identify opportunities for optimisation and cost reduction
• Preparing regular reports on procurement activities, expenditure and performance for senior management review

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join PT. Polygroup Manufaktur Indonesia on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position based in Kendal Regency, Central Java, responsible for overseeing all purchasing and procurement operations for our manufacturing facility. As Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimising our supply chain, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effectiveness whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability. This position reports directly to senior management and is integral to supporting our operational excellence and business growth objectives.
