Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum experience at the Chef de Partie (CDP) level or equivalent kitchen supervisory experience.
• Indonesian citizen with Peranakan/nyonya or kopitiam-style cooking experience.
• Experience in kopitiam, restaurant, café, or similar food service establishment.
• Must have a culinary certificate or chef competency certificate.
• Able to supervise junior kitchen staff and coordinate daily operations.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Peranakan dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure timely food preparation.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Supervise and guide junior chefs and kitchen staff during service.
• Ensure proper preparation, storage and handling of all ingredients.
• Monitor ingredient freshness, stock, and kitchen inventory.
• Assist with ingredient ordering and minimize waste and costs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment organization.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure efficient service and order timing.
• Assist in developing or improving recipes and menu items when required.
