The Lazy Rabbit Hostel in Ubud, Bali is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily hostel operations and drive guest satisfaction. You will supervise reception, housekeeping, bar and maintenance, manage schedules, costs, and performance, and ensure high hospitality standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in hospitality operations leadership, strong English, budgeting experience, and proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets and Cloudbeds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in hospitality operations management.
• Experience as Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of front office, housekeeping, maintenance and F&B operations.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong leadership and planning skills.
• Budgeting and operational cost control experience.
• Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets and Cloudbeds.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily hostel operations including reception, housekeeping, bar, maintenance and guest services.
• Conduct daily inspections of rooms, bathrooms, common areas, pools and facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Supervise staff including scheduling, attendance, recruitment, training and performance evaluations.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and monitor satisfaction through online reviews.
• Organize daily social activities including trivia nights, drinking games, tournaments, movie nights and social dinners.
• Monitor daily revenue and operational expenses, supervise cash handling and financial reconciliation.
• Monitor occupancy rates and bookings through Booking.com, Hostelworld, Cloudbeds, and direct channels.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports and document staff schedules and incidents.

The Lazy Rabbit Hostel is looking for an experienced, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily operations in Ubud, Bali. This is a hands-on management position where you will lead a team, solve problems independently, improve operational efficiency, control costs, and maintain high hospitality standards. You will take responsibility for the smooth operation of the entire property while ensuring excellent guest experiences and strong team performance.

Key responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all daily hostel operations including reception, housekeeping, bar, maintenance, and guest services

Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, bathrooms, common areas, swimming pools, and facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards

Supervise and manage reception, housekeeping, bar, and maintenance staff including scheduling, attendance monitoring, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations

Ensure guests receive excellent service throughout their stay, handle complaints professionally, and monitor satisfaction through online reviews

Supervise the organization of daily social activities including trivia nights, drinking games, tournaments, movie nights, and social dinners

Monitor daily revenue and operational expenses, supervise cash handling and financial reconciliation, and control operational costs

Monitor occupancy rates and booking performance through Booking.com, Hostelworld, Cloudbeds, and direct booking channels

Supervise housekeeping standards, cleaning schedules, and maintenance requests to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance

Supervise daily bar operations, monitor inventory and stock levels, and coordinate bar staff schedules

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and maintain accurate documentation of staff schedules, incidents, and guest complaints

About you

Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality operations manager or hotel / hostel manager

Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, Hostel Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager, or similar leadership position

Strong understanding of front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage operations

Very good spoken and written English is mandatory

Strong leadership and team management abilities with excellent organizational and planning skills

Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and take responsibility

Understanding of budgeting and operational cost control with experience managing cash transactions and financial reports

Comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets, and hospitality software such as Cloudbeds
