Desa Laguna is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily island operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and a safe, high-standard resort experience. You will lead 15–20 staff, coordinate guest services, and collaborate with Marketing on growth while embedding sustainability in every practice.
The role requires living on the island 2–3 weeks per month, strong leadership, and a proactive, guest-focused mindset in a remote, nature-rich setting.
Desa Laguna is looking for a hands‑on leader to oversee day‑to‑day island operations, ensuring the resort runs smoothly, safely, and to a high standard of guest service. The Operation Manager leads a team of 20 on the island, hosts our guests, manages administrative and operational processes, and helps embed the resort’s sustainability principles into daily practice.
The role requires strong knowledge of sustainability practices including energy and water conservation, waste reduction and recycling systems, sustainable sourcing from local suppliers, and minimizing the resort’s environmental footprint. Sustainability and regeneration are at the core of our island operations.
The role also requires knowledge in Marketing and Sales, working closely with the General Manager to lead efforts to grow bookings, revenue, guest programs, and brand awareness for the island.
Primarily, our operations manager is a leader who has a good sense of humor, an optimistic attitude, and seamlessly hosts our guests while coordinating our team to deliver an exceptional, high quality experience - for our team as well as our guests.
This role requires living on the island (minimum of 2 but ideally 3 weeks per month on the island), and is well suited to someone who thrives leading a close‑knit team in a remote, nature‑immersed setting.
Oversee daily island operations across guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and facilities
Lead, schedule, and develop a team of 15–20 staff, fostering a positive and accountable team culture
Manage administrative processes, including staff records, procurement, inventory, and reporting
Working closely with General Manager in Sales and Marketing
Ensure smooth guest experiences from arrival to departure, resolving issues promptly and professionally
Coordinate with the marketing & sales, and back‑office teams to align operations with bookings and guest expectations
Host on the island, welcoming guests and ensuring a memorable stay
Keep sustainability at the core of island operations, ensuring the resort’s eco‑conscious principles are reflected in daily practices, guest experience, and staff routines
S1 (bachelor’s degree) graduate — a bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred. However, hospitality, tourism, or business‑related majors are a plus.
Minimum 3 years of professional work experience, with at least 1 year in hospitality service (Aged 30–40).
Ideal Age: 30 to 45 years old.
Knowledge and experience in Marketing and Sales.
Willing to live on the island for 2-3 weeks per month: comfortable with a live‑in, remote‑island lifestyle and rotating schedule, with time off taken on a monthly basis.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of 15–20 people — a proven track record of supervising, motivating, and developing a mid‑sized team, ideally in a hospitality or service environment.
Familiar with administrative work — comfortable handling schedules, reports, inventory records, and other day‑to‑day operational work on google drive.
Good communication skills — able to clearly coordinate with staff, guests, and management, and to handle guest concerns with tact and professionalism.
Proficient in English, Confident English communication skills, both verbal and written
Mature, positive personality with strong teamwork orientation — a calm, solutions‑oriented approach and a collaborative attitude, well‑suited to leading a close‑knit island team.
