Job summary

PT KARYA TEKHNIK UTAMA seeks an experienced Crewing Manager to oversee end-to-end recruitment for our tanker and general cargo fleet, ensuring compliance with STCW, MLC, and flag-state rules while maintaining confidentiality of records.

You will coordinate certifications, licenses, medicals, visas, travel, and training records; develop rotation plans; monitor KPIs; and collaborate with operations, technical divisions, and QHSE to keep vessels fully manned and ready.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Transportation, Shipping Management, or related field.
• 2–4 years of crewing/manning experience, preferably with tanker/general cargo vessels.
• Strong knowledge of STCW, MLC 2006, flag state requirements, and maritime regulations.
• Experience in seafarer recruitment, crew planning, rotation, certification, documentation, and crew changes.
• Experience handling crew welfare, grievances, disciplinary matters, and emergency coordination.
• Understanding of crew competency, training requirements, and seafarer retention.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; CMS experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple vessels and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to be available outside regular hours for urgent crew changes or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage timeline and end-to-end crewing recruitment for the fleet.
• Oversee crew certification, licenses, medicals, visas, travel, and training records.
• Plan crew rotations to ensure continuity, cost efficiency, and readiness.
• Maintain crew documentation, contracts, and personnel records securely.
• Handle crew welfare and crisis management, including emergencies and grievances.
• Monitor KPIs related to crew utilization, competency, and training compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, technical division, and DPA/QHSE teams to keep vessels fully manned.
