Job summary

Wirehire is seeking an experienced Crewing Operations Manager to lead end-to-end crew management for the fleet. You will ensure vessels are staffed with qualified personnel in line with international regulations and company requirements, while driving cost efficiency and readiness.

You will oversee recruitment, deployment, rotation, and repatriation of seafarers, manage licenses, medicals, visas, and training records, and supervise performance, development, and retention programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end crewing operations for the fleet.
  • Ensure vessels are manned with qualified personnel per international regulations and company requirements.
  • Develop and implement crewing strategies for crew availability, cost efficiency, and readiness.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, deployment, rotation, and repatriation of seafarers while complying with STCW, MLC 2006, flag state, and client needs.
  • Manage crew certification, licenses, medicals, visas, travel, and training records for regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise crew performance evaluations, career development, succession planning, and retention programs.
  • Coordinate with vessel masters, marine ops, technical, QHSE, and project teams for timely crew mobilization.
  • Establish crewing budgets, manpower planning, and workforce allocation for efficiency.
  • Maintain crew documents, contracts, payroll data, and personnel records securely.
  • Handle welfare matters, disciplinary cases, grievances, and conflicts onboard and ashore.
  • Develop crewing policies, procedures, and SOPs aligned with best practices and objectives.
  • Support audits, inspections, and client assessments related to crewing and personnel management.
  • Monitor KPIs for crew utilization, retention, competency, training compliance, and recruitment effectiveness.
  • Build relations with maritime authorities, training institutions, manning agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management on manpower planning and operational improvements.

  • Establish and monitor crewing budgets, manpower planning, and workforce allocation to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all crew documentation, contracts, payroll data, and personnel records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
  • Handle crew welfare matters, disciplinary cases, grievances, and conflict resolution while promoting a positive working environment onboard and ashore.
  • Develop and improve crewing policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to align with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and client assessments related to crewing and personnel management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to crew utilization, retention, competency, training compliance, and recruitment effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with maritime authorities, training institutions, manning agencies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management regarding manpower planning, workforce performance, compliance status, and operational improvements.
