Job summary

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturer based in Klaten, Central Java, seeks an experienced Head of QA & QC to lead the quality system from incoming materials to final inspection. You will design standards, coordinate the QC team, and ensure every product meets company and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Wood Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in Quality Control in a furniture manufacturing company, including experience leading a team.
• Knowledge of furniture production processes, wood types, and product standards.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems; SPC and data analysis a plus.
• Strong leadership and cross-team coordination.
• Able to read technical drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality standards, policies, and procedures for all furniture production processes.
• Lead and manage the QC team across production lines.
• Ensure quality checks at all production stages, including raw material and final inspections.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse on material specs.
• Analyze root causes of rejects and customer complaints; define CAPAs.
• Approve or reject controlled products; stop production for major defects.
• Record inspection results and maintain QC documentation.
• Support FSC and SVLK audits; prepare for internal and external audits.
• Prepare periodic quality reports and improvement recommendations.
• Coordinate with Production, PPIC, R&D, Technical, Costing, and vendors on quality matters.

Job description

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Head of QA & QC to lead the company's quality system from incoming materials to final inspection. You will design quality standards and control systems, lead the QC organization (including the Head of Grader Material and Head of QC Process), and ensure every product meets company standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulations. You will report directly to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement quality standards, policies, and procedures for all furniture production processes

Lead and manage the QC team, including testing, inspection, and audits across production lines

Ensure quality checks are carried out thoroughly at every production stage, including raw material inspection procedures and final inspection before delivery to customers

Work with Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure materials meet specifications

Analyze root causes of rejects and customer complaints, and define corrective and preventive actions

Make approve or reject decisions on controlled products, and stop production when major defects are found

Ensure inspection results are recorded accurately and followed up on, and keep QC documentation well organized (inspection forms, non-conformance reports, audit data)

Support quality system requirements such as FSC and SVLK, and prepare for internal and external audits

Prepare periodic quality reports and improvement recommendations for management

Coordinate with Production, PPIC, R&D, Technical, Costing, and vendors on all quality-related matters

About you

Bachelor's degree in Wood Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control in a furniture manufacturing company, including experience leading a team

Solid understanding of the furniture production process, wood types, supporting materials, and product standards

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems; knowledge of Statistical Quality Control and data analysis is a plus

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership, with the ability to coordinate actively across teams and divisions

Able to read technical drawings

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Good verbal and written English communication skills
