Job summary

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen) is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the entire furniture production operation at its Klaten facility in Central Java. You will oversee planning, execution, quality control, and output targets while guiding Heads of Production and Maintenance to ensure safe, on-time, cost-efficient manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Wood Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of production experience including leadership in a furniture manufacturing company.
• Understanding of furniture production processes (woodworking, assembly, finishing, packaging).
• Experience managing shift work systems and production manpower.
• Ability to calculate productivity, OEE, and perform root-cause analysis (RCA).

Responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and capacity.
• Allocate manpower, raw materials, and machines to meet output targets on schedule.
• Monitor daily production performance and analyze outputs, downtime, and efficiency.
• Lead QA with root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects.
• Coach Heads, Supervisors, Leaders, and Operators; manage manpower planning.
• Coordinate with PPIC, Warehouse, Maintenance, QA/QC, R&D/Design, and HR & GA on schedules and training.
• Support new product development (NPD) and provide Design for Manufacturing input to R&D/Design.
• Maintain safety culture; ensure SOPs, work instructions, and PPE compliance with K3 standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through ISO 9001, 5S, Lean, and Kaizen; lead cost-saving projects.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors when required.

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead its entire furniture production operation. You will manage, oversee, and optimize the production process from planning and execution to quality control and output targets, leading the Heads of Production and Maintenance to ensure production runs efficiently, safely, on time, and within cost. You will report directly to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and machine/manpower capacity, and ensure balanced workload across production lines

Manage the allocation of manpower, raw materials, and machines to achieve output targets on schedule

Monitor daily production performance against schedule, quality, and quantity, and analyze production reports (output, downtime, reject rate, efficiency)

Work with QC to ensure product quality standards, and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects and non-conformities

Lead, coach, and develop the Heads, Supervisors, Leaders, and Operators, including manpower planning, recruitment, and placement

Coordinate with PPIC, Warehouse, Maintenance, QA/QC, R&D/Design, and HR & GA on schedules, materials, machine downtime, quality issues, and training

Support new product development (NPD) and give Design for Manufacturing input to R&D/Design

Build and uphold a safe work culture, including SOPs, work instructions, and PPE compliance in line with K3 standards

Drive continuous improvement through ISO 9001, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen, and lead cost-saving and efficiency projects

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors when required

About you

Bachelor's degree in Wood Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 5 years of production experience, including leadership, in a furniture manufacturing company

Solid understanding of the furniture production process (woodworking, assembly, finishing, packaging), machine capacity, and line balancing

Experience managing shift work systems and production manpower

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (internal audit), 5S, Kaizen, PDCA, and lean tools (kanban, VSM)

Able to calculate productivity, OEE, and work efficiency, and to analyze root causes (RCA, Fishbone, 5 Why)

Strong leadership, quick decision-making, conflict management, and negotiation skills

Good communication with all levels, including coaching and mentoring Heads, Supervisors, and Leaders

Able to present and write clear production reports

Willing to work primarily on the production floor
