Job summary

Arbeit Group in Jakarta is seeking an energetic hunter-type sales professional to drive new business in sea freight, NVOCC, and logistics services. You will build a strong customer network, negotiate competitive rates, and coordinate with operations to ensure smooth shipments.

The role requires 2–5 years in freight/logistics sales, excellent English and Bahasa Indonesia, and willingness to travel for client meetings and development efforts.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of sales experience in freight/logistics.
• Strong knowledge of ocean import/export and international logistics.
• Existing customer contacts/network in freight forwarding or shipping preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business.
• Good understanding of freight rates, quotations and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and business development.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customers for sea freight, NVOCC, freight forwarding and logistics services.
• Generate new business through cold calling, customer visits, referrals, networking and market research.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing customers and increase business volume.
• Understand customers’ shipping requirements and provide appropriate logistics/freight solutions.
• Prepare and submit quotations, negotiate rates and close deals.
• Coordinate with Operations, Documentation, Customer Service and Finance teams for smooth shipments.
• Follow up on quotations and leads and convert prospects into active customers.
• Monitor competitors, market rates and industry trends.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales and revenue targets.
• Maintain accurate records of customers, prospects, quotations, follow-ups and sales activities.
• Regularly report sales performance, customer visits, new leads and business pipeline to management.
• Follow up on outstanding payments in coordination with Finance.
• Develop long-term relationships with key customers and identify opportunities for additional business.
• Participate in industry events, customer meetings and networking activities to expand the company’s business network.
