Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of cooking experience in a hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and presentation.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Able to work under pressure during busy service periods.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic cafe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and kitchen standards.

As a Cook, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that reflect our cafe's commitment to excellence and innovation. Your contribution will directly impact our reputation and guest satisfaction, making this a vital position within our hospitality team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and kitchen standards
• Ensure all food is prepared with attention to detail, presentation and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service
• Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to ensure dishes meet quality requirements
• Assist with inventory management and report when supplies require replenishment
• Follow all health and safety regulations and food handling procedures
• Respond to special dietary requests and adapt dishes as needed
• Contribute to a positive and supportive kitchen environment

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience working as a Cook or in a similar culinary role within a hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
• Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively during service periods
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
• Flexibility with working hours, including potential weekend and holiday shifts
• Formal culinary training or certification is preferred but not essential with sufficient practical experience
