Job summary

You will identify opportunities, build relationships with cargo owners, prepare proposals, negotiate terms, and coordinate with operations and finance to secure contracts.

• Strong networking and relationship-building with cargo owners, shippers, charterers, and traders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities related to Tugboat & Barage services and marine transportation.
• Approach and build relationships with cargo owners, shippers, charterers, traders, mining companies, contractors, and potential customers.
• Prepare and deliver quotations, commercial proposals, and price offers to customers.
• Negotiate freight rates, charter rates, contract periods, cargo volumes, routes, and other commercial terms.
• Coordinate with Operations, Port Captain, Port Engineer, Finance, and Management teams to ensure fleet readiness and smooth execution.
• Monitor the sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and prepare periodic commercial activity reports.

COMMERCIAL SHIPPING / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

We are seeking a candidate with capabilities in Commercial, Sales, and Business Development to develop maritime transportation services business, particularly Tugboat & Barge/Tongkang operations.

Key responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities related to Tugboat & Barge services, maritime transportation, and marine logistics

Approach and build relationships with cargo owners, shippers, charterers, traders, mining companies, contractors, and potential customers

Identify customer needs related to cargo transportation using tugboats and barges

Conduct customer visits, business meetings, presentations, and negotiations to obtain new business opportunities and contracts

Prepare and deliver quotations, commercial proposals, and price offers to customers

Negotiate freight rates, charter rates, contract periods, cargo volumes, routes, and other commercial terms

Coordinate with Operation, Port Captain, Port Engineer, Finance, and Management teams to ensure fleet readiness and smooth work execution

Monitor business process development from inquiry, quotation, negotiation to contract/deal

Handle customer communications regarding schedule changes, operational needs, and challenges during work execution

Conduct market intelligence on cargo opportunities, vessel requirements, freight rates, competitors, and shipping industry developments

Create and monitor sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and prepare periodic commercial activity reports

Achieve company-set targets for revenue, new customers, and business growth
