Job summary

Samudera Indonesia is seeking a Chartering professional to manage monthly performance reports, negotiate freight rates, and ensure contracts align with terms. You will coordinate with Operations, maintain client relationships, and supervise Chartering staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in naval architecture or maritime engineering, with at least two years in chartering or shipping, strong negotiation and MS Office skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related maritime field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in chartering, shipping, or maritime operations.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Good understanding of charter party agreements, freight negotiation, and shipping operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly performance reports for chartered vessels and meet deadlines.
• Conduct freight offers and negotiate freight rates with customers.
• Ensure contracts are prepared accurately and in compliance with terms.
• Coordinate with Operations to monitor shipment processes per contracts.
• Maintain active communication and strong relationships with customers.
• Supervise and monitor Chartering staff activities.
• Report to Chartering Manager on shipping and chartering activities.
• Aim to optimize vessel employment and minimize idle time.
• Aim to achieve vessel TCE and revenue targets in line with budgets.
