Job summary

Elite Concepts (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a passionate Sommelier Assistant for our prestigious dining environment in Hong Kong. The role supports the sommelier and restaurant team in wine selection, service and guest engagement.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in F&B or hospitality, strong wine knowledge, and excellent communication in English and Cantonese; Putonghua is a plus. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager / Sommelier in developing and maintaining a curated wine selection.
• Support wine service, including opening, pouring and presentation to guests.
• Engage with guests to provide knowledgeable wine recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and service areas.
• Keep accurate inventory records and assist with stock management.
• Stay informed about new wine offerings, trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with the service team to deliver seamless guest experiences.
• Uphold professionalism, hospitality and presentation standards.
• Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance wine knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding sale and storage of alcohol.

Assist the Restaurant Manager / Sommelier in developing, updating, and maintaining an curated wine selection that complements our innovative Chinese cuisine;

Support wine service, including opening, pouring, and presentation, ensuring proper etiquette and guest satisfaction;

Engage with guests to provide knowledgeable wine recommendations based on their preferences and menu selections;

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and service areas;

Keep accurate inventory records and assist with stock management;

Stay informed about new wine offerings, trends, and industry best practices;

Collaborate with the service team to deliver seamless and exceptional guest experiences;

Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and presentation;

Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wine, and foster a culture of enthusiastic wine service among front-of-house team;

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding the sale and storage of alcohol.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in a similar role in the F&B or hospitality industry;

Extensive knowledge in different wines, spirits and tasting techniques is preferred;

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with guests and staff;

Strong communication skills with an emphasis on guest interaction;

Good marketing and promotional skills to maximize profitability;

Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese; fluent in Putonghua is preferred.
