Job summary

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is seeking an experienced operations leader to manage the overall running of our performing arts venue in Hong Kong. You will oversee front‑of‑house and day‑to‑day operations to ensure events run smoothly and safely.

You will develop SOPs, oversee banquet and merchandise logistics, and translate analytics into actionable insights while coordinating with hirers, sales teams and vendors to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in performing arts, hospitality, tourism, food & beverage, retail operations or equivalent.
• 10 years of relevant venue operations experience with at least 8 years in a managerial position.
• Proficient in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall operations of the performing arts venue and ensure events run smoothly.

Job description

You Will Be Responsible For

• the overall operations of the performing arts venue, ensuring that all events and activities run smoothly;
• leading a team to oversee front-of-house and day-to-day operation;
• making recommendations on operational requirements and front-of-house venue design;
• overseeing operation aspects and logistics of banquet business and merchandise;
• developing and implementing operational policies and procedures (SOPs) to ensure the banquet business and merchandise operations run effectively and efficiently;
• managing the product lifecycle and establishing consistent execution of promotional activities and item launches;
• leveraging business intelligence to translate analytics into insights;
• ensuring all events comply with safety and regulatory standards including licensing and risk management;
• acting as the primary liaison between hirers, sales teams and food & beverage vendors;
• building and maintaining relationships with venue hirers, event organizers and operation partners to facilitate smooth event logistics; and
• performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by the Authority.

You Should

• possess a recognized university degree in performing arts, hospitality, tourism, food & beverage, retail operations or equivalent;
• have 10 years of relevant experience in venue operations in performing arts venues, hospitality and/or tourism sectors, food & beverage and/or retails operations of which at least 8 years in a managerial position;
• have good knowledge of performing arts venues facilities, front-of-house and event operations;
• have good understanding of the performing arts scene of Hong Kong;
• have experience in operation and development of performing arts venues;
• have proven experience managing complex and high-profile events;
• be service-oriented with professional customer service skills and positive service attitude;
• possess a track record of developing quality customer service;
• possess good analytical skills;
• possess excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and building partnerships;
• be proficient in written and spoken Cantonese, Putonghua and English;
• be able to work in both outdoor and indoor environment; and
• be required to work on shift (5-day work week) including weekends and public holidays.
