Job summary

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) is seeking an Operation Supervisor to oversee hosting facilities, lead monitoring enhancements, and manage daily data center operations.

The role requires 3+ years in IT systems administration, hands-on VMware/SAN experience, and strong planning, risk analysis, and stakeholder coordination.

Fixed-term contract of at least 2 years with renewal possible; good English and Chinese communication skills preferred; HK driving license a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years IT systems administration experience including operation, support and project management.
• Experience in VMware, SAN storage, DCIM, Telemetry Gateway, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or multi-vendor cloud platforms.
• ITIL v3+ certification preferred.
• Hong Kong driving license preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in spoken/written English and Chinese; Putonghua advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hosting facilities contingency planning and drills.
• Lead sub-projects to enhance system monitoring and ensure stable deployments.
• Manage daily data center operations, maintenance and long-term planning.
• Assess major system changes, conduct risk analyses, and minimize disruption to end users.
• Develop, update and maintain O&M manuals and knowledge-management with automation tools.
• Build and maintain OT dashboards and reporting tools for IT Operations decisions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors and contractors, managing performance and delivery.
• Contribute to Resilient Enhancement Project to meet IT Operations requirements.

This is a fixed-term contract position of minimum 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisation need and individual performance. Responsibilities:

• Oversee hosting facilities contingency planning, coordinate stakeholders, and manage execution and review of operational drills
• Lead sub-projects that enhance system monitoring capabilities and ensure alignment with IT operational standards for stable deployments
• Manage daily data center operations, maintenance, long-term planning, and resource allocation
• Assess major system changes, conduct risk and impact analyses, and ensure minimal disruption to end users
• Develop, update, and maintain operational procedures, O&M manuals, and knowledge-management practices with appropriate automation tools
• Build and maintain Operation Technology dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision making across IT Operations
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors, while managing contractor performance and delivery of operational and project activities
• Play an active role in the Resilient Enhancement Project team to ensure all enhancement activities and deliverables meet IT Operations' requirements, standards and expectations

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience on IT systems administration, including operation, technical support and project management etc., with at least 1-2 years proven experience with programming and shell scripting
• Experience in supporting VMware, SAN storage, DCIM (SNMP/Modbus/LoRaWAN), Telemetry Gateway, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or multi-vendor cloud platform etc.
• Certification in relevant technologies e.g. MS windows / RHEL will be definitely advantageous
• Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or above is preferred
• Holder of Hong Kong driving license is preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills
• Good spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage
