Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited is recruiting for a contract IT Server Maintenance specialist to support Hongkong Post. You will work across Windows/Linux platforms, perform patching via SCCM, backups, and on-site support.

The role requires strong data centre knowledge, English/Chinese communication, and flexibility to work at multiple HKP locations. 3-month contract; immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge in daily operation and maintenance of data centres.
• Strong Windows Server administration and updates deployment via SCCM.
• Experience with ManageEngine Application Manager is required.
• Good written and spoken Chinese and English communication.
• Must have government work experience and vendor coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing system maintenance support for Hongkong Post servers and related infra.
• Perform Windows patching and software delivery using SCCM.
• Monitor server health, resources and services (Java, Oracle DB, MS SQL).
• Coordinate software installations and maintenance with teams and vendors.
• Assist in sourcing IT equipment and procurement specifications.
• Provide on-site/standby support in data centres as needed.
• Coordinate with server, database and application teams for scheduling.

Project Nature

To provide on-going system maintenance support to servers of Hongkong Post and to maintain, enhance and upgrade the existing server infrastructure of Hongkong Post.

Duties

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Hongkong Post;
• a) To responsible for the on-going system maintenance support to servers with different hardware (including UPS, Server, Blade Server, SAN Storage, Fiber Switch, Backup Tape Library and etc) and different operating system platforms (including Linux and Windows);
• b) To perform regular Windows Patching and software delivery through Microsoft SCCM;
• c) To monitor the servers' healthiness, resources utilization, different kinds of services like Java, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL DB and etc. through ManageEngine Application Manager.
• d) To evaluation and operate server software installation, software delivery, software patching & updating on different operating system platforms (including Windows and Linux);
• e) To carry out backup tape management, perform regular Backup/Restore test for all systems and IT equipment disposal;
• f) To co-ordinate with server team, database team application teams and vendors for proper scheduling of system installation and maintenance works; and
• g) To assist the sourcing of IT equipment and prepare the specification for procurement
• h) To provide first-line on-site/standby support of any tasks in data centres.

Requirements

• a) Have solid knowledge and experience in daily operation and maintenance of data centres;
• b) Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in Windows Server;
• c) Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in support using ManageEngine Application Manager;
• d) Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in deploying Windows updates and Software delivery to Windows via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2016 and 2019;
• e) Have good communication and skills, both written and verbal, in Chinese and English;
• f) Need to work in various office locations of HKP;
• g) Require to work in irregular hours; and
• h) Criminal record check is required.

Technical Skills

• At least 3 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration (ADA);
• At least 3 years' experience in Anti-Virus Technology (AVT);
• At least 3 years' experience in Experience in Datacentre Maintenance (DCM);
• At least 3 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12);
• At least 2 years' experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT);
• 2 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT) is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills

• At least 3 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
• 2 years' experience in vendor management (VMG) is an advantage.
• At least Level 2 or above in 5 subjects including Chinese and English Language in HKDSEE or Grade E or above in 5 subjects, including Chinese and English Language (Syl B) in HKCEE or equivalent;
• At least 5 years'relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
