Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited seeks an IT Server Administrator to maintain Hongkong Post server infrastructure across HKP offices. You will manage Linux/Windows servers, patch with SCCM, monitor health, and coordinate with server, database, and application teams on-site.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge and good technical skill in Linux, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
• Experience with SCCM, Veeam, ManageEngine, and SEP.
• Fluent Chinese and English communication.

Responsibilities

Project Nature (T26) To provide on-going system maintenance support to servers of Hongkong Post and to maintain, enhance and upgrade the existing server infrastructure of Hongkong Post.

Duties

Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Hongkong Post;

Job Description The job duties requirements of the service are as follows:

• To in-charge of the on-going system maintenance support to servers with different hardware (including UPS, Server, Blade Server, SAN Storage, SAN Switch, Backup Tape Library and etc) and different operating system platforms (including Linux and Windows);
• To perform regular Windows Patching and software delivery through Microsoft SCCM;
• To monitor the servers' healthiness, resources utilization, different kinds of services like Java, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL DB and etc. through ManageEngine Application Manager.
• To evaluate and operate the server software installation, software delivery, software patching & updating on different operating system platforms (including Windows and Linux);
• To carry out backup tape management, perform regular Backup/Restore test for all systems and IT equipment disposal;
• To co-ordinate with server team, database team, application teams and vendors for proper scheduling of server provisioning and maintenance works; and
• To assist the sourcing of IT equipment and prepare the specification for procurement
• To provide first-line and second-line on-site/standby support of servers which may be caused by server hardware and/or system software problems.

Requirements

The support staff is required to:

• Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in Linux, Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022;
• Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in operating of VM such as creation, decommission, maintenance of virtual machines via VMware vSphere 7/8 and Microsoft Hyper-V 2016, 2019 and 2022.
• Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in supporting of ManageEngine Application Manager, administrating of Symantec Endpoint Protection Management system, operating of backup and restoring of system via Veeam Backup and Replication 12;
• Have solid knowledge and good technical skill in deploying Windows updates and Software delivery to both Windows and Linux-based OS via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2016 and 2019;
• Have good communication and skills, both written and verbal, in Chinese and English;
• Need to work in various office locations of HKP;
• Require to work in irregular hours; and
• Criminal record check is required.

Technical Skills:

• At least 2 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration (ADA);
• At least 2 years' experience in Anti-Virus Technology (AVT);
• At least 2 years' experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT);
• At least 2 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT);
• At least 2 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12);
• 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills:

• At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
• 2 years' experience in vendor management (VMG) is an advantage.

- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;

- At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
