Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited seeks an IT infrastructure professional for a 3-month contract to maintain and upgrade Hongkong Post server infrastructure. You will manage enterprise servers, virtualization, SAN storage and backups, with hands-on patching and service monitoring.

The role requires strong Windows Server, Linux, and database skills, plus coordination with multiple teams. Willingness to work across HKP offices and occasional irregular hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, SDD storage and Windows Server environments.
• Experience with SCCM/SCVMM and backup/recovery tools.
• Familiarity with SAN storage interfaces and Oracle/SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing system maintenance and hands-on installation/configuration for servers across multiple hardware platforms.
• Patch Windows systems regularly and deliver software via SCCM.
• Monitor server health, resources, and services (Java, Oracle DB, MS SQL) using monitoring tools.
• Coordinate with DB and application teams for installation timelines.
• Provide on-call support and assist IT team with admin tasks and documentation.
• Supervise junior staff as needed.

Project Nature (T26) To provide on-going system maintenance support to servers of Hongkong Post and to maintain, enhance and upgrade the existing server infrastructure of Hongkong Post.

Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Hongkong Post;
The job duties requirements of the service are as follows: -
a) To be in charge for the on-going system maintenance support and hand-on installation/configuration to servers of different hardware (including Enterprise grade servers, blade systems, SAN storages, backup tape library, 100Gbps ethernet infrastructure and etc.) and different operating system platforms (including Windows, Linux, vSphere, Hyper-V);
b) To perform regular Windows Patching and software delivery through Microsoft SCCM;
c) To monitor the servers' healthiness, resources utilization, different kinds of services like Java, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL DB and etc. through ManageEngine Application Manager, VMware vSphere and Microsoft SCVMM;
d) To evaluate impact of server software installation, distribution, patching and updating;
e) To co-ordinate with database teams, application teams and vendors for proper scheduling of system installation and maintenance works;
f) To provide first-line and second-line standby on-call support of servers which may be caused by environmental issues, server hardware and/or system software problems;
g) To assist IT team to handle administration works such as documentation, procurement, hardware/software inventory updating, bill payment and filing; and
h) To supervise junior sub-ordinates in handling the above tasks.

Requirements The support staff is required to:
a) Solid knowledge and good technical skill in supporting VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure, Microsoft Software-Defined Storage, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft System Center including SCCM/SCVMM, Microsoft Remote Desktop Service, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Veeam Backup and Replication 12;
b) Solid knowledge and good technical skill in supporting SAN Storages through interfaces such as 6/12G SAS and 1/10/25/40/50/100G iSCSI;
c) Experience in supporting Data Centre Relocation, Microsoft SQL database, Oracle database, Oracle RAC, Linux (Red-hat, Ubuntu) is an advantage;
d) Good communication and skills, both written and verbal, in Chinese or English;
e) Good coordination skills in handling tasks with team members and other parties;
f) Need to work in various office locations of HKP;
g) May require to work in irregular hours; and
h) Criminal record check is required.
Technical Skills:
. At least 3 years' experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT);
. At least 3 years' experience in Storage Area Network (SAN);
. At least 3 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT);
. At least 3 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12);
. 2 years' experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage;
. 2 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration (ADA) is an advantage;
. 2 years' experience in Anti-Virus Technology (AVT) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Oracle Real Application Cluster (OAC) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skills:
. At least 3 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
. 2 years' experience in vendor management (VMG) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 2 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
