Job summary

China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to oversee complex life insurance claims, ensure timely settlement and compliant processing.

The role requires leadership of the claims team, KPI delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing process improvement to uplift customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Insurance, medical, management or related disciplines.
• Holder of FLMI or ICA qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and approve new claim/complaint cases within authority; manage customer expectations with flexible solutions.
• Prepare regular management and business reports of Claims Department.
• Assist team leader to supervise and lead the team to achieve KPI and drive initiatives to uplift operations efficiency and customer experience.
• Provide regular training and support to enhance professional knowledge and standards of subordinates and agencies.
• Responsible for business data analysis, requirement gathering, scoping, documentation and functional specification review to align with business objectives.
• Coordinate and assist in UAT activities including test plans, test cases, quality checks, bug monitoring and post-implementation monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments and external parties to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
• Participate in Product Development and liaison with reinsurers.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Assess and approve new claim/complaint case/complicated case within authority and manage customer expectation by offering flexible solution
• Prepare regular management and business reports of Claims Department.
• Assist team leader to supervise and lead the team to achieve the KPI and help driving initiatives to uplift operations efficiency and customer experience.
• Provide regular training and support to enhance professional knowledge and standard of subordinates and agencies.
• Responsible for the business data analysis, requirement gathering, scoping, documentation and functional specification review to ensure business objectives are aligned.
• Coordinate and assist in UAT activities such as preparation of test plan, test cases, pre-UAT quality check, monitoring of bug fixing, retest progress, UAT reports and post implementation monitoring.
• Work effectively and efficiently with cross-functional departments and external parties to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with company strategy.
• Participate in Product Development and liaison with reinsurers

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree holders in Insurance, medical, management or related disciplines
• Holder of FLMI or ICA qualification is preferred
• Minimum 8 years of claims experience in Life Insurance Industry with at least 2 years in management level
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is definitely an advantage
• Highly organized self-starter, capable to lead multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
