Job summary

HKIRC seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee daily IT operations, ensure high system availability, and enforce robust change management. The role acts as the gatekeeper for monitoring infrastructure activities and incident reporting across teams.

You will manage Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualization, backups, and DR planning while coordinating with vendors to meet SLAs and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum 5-6 years of solid experience in IT infrastructure support with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), a non-profit making and non-statutory corporation responsible for the overall administration of “.hk” domain names in Hong Kong.HKIRC is also responsible for the on-going liaison with local and international bodies on issues relating to the development and administration of Internet domain name systems. We are looking for highly motivated and independent candidates for the position of:

Responsibilities:

Mainly to oversee the daily operations of the IT team (infrastructure, project, and IT operations), ensuring high system availability, robust change management compliance, and strict operational discipline. This role acts as the critical gatekeeper to monitor day-to-day infrastructure activities, audit system logs, and ensure 100% transparency in incident reporting and cross-team communication.

Infrastructure Management -

• Oversee the organization’s IT Infrastructure, including servers, network, storage, database, cloud services, daily system monitoring and operation tasks.


• Provide the hands-on technical support, design, implement and maintain IT systems and solutions for Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, Virtualization, email, backup, and core infrastructure services and solutions.


• Support implementation, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of IT systems, server platforms and network solutions.


• Enforce strict adherence to ITIL frameworks, Change Management processes, and internal SOPs. Continuously monitor and audit team members’ daily infrastructure activities, server/service modifications, and configuration changes to prevent unauthorized updates or undocumented workarounds.


• Periodically review system logs and audit trails to verify operational consistency and eliminate information asymmetry or delayed incident reporting within the team.


• Implement and execute dual-verification mechanisms for critical infrastructure interventions, including manual service restarts, critical patch applications, or database/network configuration rollbacks.


• Collaborate with vendors and service providers on infrastructure support, maintenance, problem resolution to ensure SLA meets organizational needs.


• Coordinate the IT infrastructure team project execution and other IT matters.


• Support any Emergency operation support for data centre & BAU operation, even at non-office hours/PH.

Management and Support -

• Support IT Manager in team supervision, service quality, staff coaching and daily operations.


• Review and maintain IT policies, documents, technical and operation procedures, IT asset records to achieve ITSM requirements, security requirement in place for all IT Infrastructure and data centre operation.


• Act as the primary point of contact for external technical teams (e.g., Application, DevOps, Cyber Security, external support vendors…etc) to resolve infrastructure-related disputes with clear, data-backed evidence.


• Supervise the team’s incident response and escalation workflow. Lead technical Root cause Analysis (RCA) based on objective log data, data centre records, and system facts, delivering, transparent post-mortem reports to management and affected stakeholders.


• Ensure rapid resolution of IT issues.


• Provide quick response and quick decision making.


• Monitoring and maintenance PROD & DR environment, to ensure business continuity.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or related disciplines.


• Minimum 5-6 years of solid experience in IT infrastructure support, System administration, or technical operations, which at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory level.


• Hands-on experience in Virtualization environment, Networking, Database, Backup & Recovery Administration, Disaster Recovery planning.


• Strong Hands-on experience in server-side administration, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, enterprise backup solutions, and awareness training.


• Strong familiarity with ITIL processes (Change Management, Incident Management), including IR, Security monitoring, Endpoint protection, patch/asset management and security risk / audit process is preferred.


• Strong problem-solving with ability to think strategically, and excellent analytical mindset with a zero-tolerance approach to ambiguous communication, problem-hiding, or opaque operational ethics.


• Extensive knowledge and certification holder in IT Security, ISO27001 and/or ITIL/ITMS is preferred.


• Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.


• Perform Ad-hoc task assign by superior and work in non-office hour is required on need basis.
