Hands-On Logistics Engineering Project Manager
Job summary
A leading global logistics firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee network-wide projects from concept to handover in the UK. The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in Engineering, proven technical leadership in large scale projects, and expertise in Lean Manufacturing. Responsibilities include coordinating design efforts, managing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with a deep understanding of mechanical handling systems.
Qualifications
- Recognized experience on equipment design and layout of mechanical handling/conveyance/packaging systems.
- Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of standard industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors.
- Manage capital projects including conceptual drawings and bid documentation.
- Provide frequent on-site monitoring of installation schedules and vendor quality.
