The role
Westminster School is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Facilities Management to provide assured, visible leadership across both Westminster School and Westminster Under School over a defined 12-month period. Located at the heart of London, the role carries responsibility for the safe, efficient and well-presented operation of two large, complex and historically significant school sites.
Operational leadership will sit at the centre of your work. You will lead established teams and work closely with trusted contractors to uphold high standards across security, fire safety, logistics, events support and site presentation, ensuring continuity, compliance and consistency in a busy boarding and day school environment. Your impact will be immediate and tangible, shaping the daily experience of pupils, staff and visitors, while giving you scope to strengthen processes and reinforce a culture of professionalism, care and accountability.
We are looking for an experienced facilities or operations leader with a strong track record of managing complex, high-risk environments and leading diverse teams with confidence and clarity. Comfortable holding responsibility for security, fire safety, compliance and service delivery, you will bring sound judgement, resilience and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving. You are used to working at pace, building trust quickly and providing stability during periods of change, while maintaining high standards and constructive relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders. Experience within education, heritage estates or similarly demanding multi-site settings will be particularly relevant.
