A renowned manufacturer of special-purpose equipment seeks a Design Engineer to join their team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will have previous design experience, preferably with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include consulting with customers, producing design drawings, and ensuring cost-effective solutions. A renowned manufacturer of special-purpose equipment, with a long-standing reputation and national presence, is embarking on an exciting new programme of development. To support this growth, they are seeking a Design Engineer.
- Consult with customers at site to understand their needs and requirements
- Produce design drawings for quotation purposes
- Create detailed drawings for issue to manufacturing
- Ensure designs are within budget by working closely with estimators and sales team
- Design cost effective solutions utilising standard components and manufacturing techniques wherever possible
- Previous experience in a design related role
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering would be desirable
- Familiar with AutoCAD products
- Ability to hand sketch and measure at customer sites
- Able to travel and work away from home
