An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cystic Fibrosis. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, forward-thinking adult-trained nurses to join the multidisciplinary Cystic Fibrosis Centre team based at St Bartholomew's Hospital in The City, London.
We provide high-quality care for both adolescents and adults living with Cystic Fibrosis. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in CF, you will work closely with our established multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance seamless care delivery throughout the patient lifespan.
Applicants must hold a current first-level registration with the NMC on part 1 or part 12 of the register. We welcome applicants without previous CF experience; you should be able to demonstrate how your previous experience applies to this role. Relevant experience may include respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, intensive care, oncology, diabetes, adolescent medicine, high dependency nursing, etc. You should be able to demonstrate experience with complex issues related to caring for young people and adolescents.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential and should be demonstrated in your application.
The successful applicant will receive support and opportunities to develop their clinical expertise in all aspects of the CF service across community and secondary care settings through formal and informal training. You will establish and develop specialised knowledge in CF nursing care, including genetics, pathophysiology, and adolescent health issues.
You will develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless CF and non-CF bronchiectasis nursing service aimed at improving patient care standards and facilitating multidisciplinary working through clinical practice, management, education, research, and audit within the clinical governance framework.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work alongside senior colleagues and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate services for adolescents and adults with CF.
