A leading Engineering Company in Hull is seeking an experienced Assistant QS to manage project finance control and reporting. The successful candidate will handle financial reporting for construction projects and assist in commercial management tasks. A Quantity Surveying Degree and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required. The role offers competitive salary of £30k to £40k, 25 days holiday, and a 5% pension scheme.

- Prepare, submit, negotiate variations with clients and subcontractors.

Project Finance Control and Reporting
- You will deliver effective management information on commercial activity.
- You will produce reports for the month end commercial & financial reports. These will include supplier and subcontractor cost liabilities as well as the accruals on each project.
- You will highlight variances from budgets on each project and identify cause & effects.
- You will ensure cash management is monitored and controlled.
- You will assist with submitting monthly project performance documents, maintaining subcontractor commitment trackers and maintaining invoicing plans.
Contract Admin/Commercial Management
- You will prepare and issue formal written instructions to suppliers and subcontractors in line with agreed contracts.
- You will prepare, submit, negotiate and agree variations with client, suppliers and subcontractors.
- You will manage subcontractor payment processes in liaison with the accounts department.
- You will analyse monthly interim applications and correct issue of payment certificates to suppliers and subcontractors.
- You will negotiate and agree final accounts with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Based in Hull, our client is a leading Engineering Company who work on £multi million construction projects in the Airport Industry.
- Quantity Surveying Degree qualification or 1 to 2 years' experience in industry
- Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
